Web Sites
How a site looks conveys a message to the person visiting it - an impression perhaps of quality, competence, taste, sympathy with the client's concerns, modernity or tradition. Or it might be a negative impression.
How a site feels is greatly influenced by its structure, especially its navigation. Most sites start from a menu which offers several subjects or sections. Each of these may be divided into subsections. A site which navigates well gives an impression of competence and considerateness.
These factors taken together make up the look and feel of a site. We give this great consideration from the start.
A Content Management System (CMS) is appropriate if you need to update your site frequently. We will advise on the type and complexity of CMS you might need, and the balance of costs and benefits involved.
Attracting Visitors
There are three routes by which to entice visitors to your site:
• First is Search Engine Optimisation (SEO), which means 'tweaking' the content of your site to make it as visible as possible to search engine 'spiders'.
• The second route is Pay Per Click (PPC), the most popular version of which, at the moment, is Google Adwords. Your ad appears as a sponsored link when one of your search terms is entered in Google, but you only pay when someone clicks on your ad. When your spend limit is reached you don't appear any more. The limit is decided by the advertiser.
• The third route is simply to make sure that your site is publicised in everything you produce, for example brochures and business cards. A campaign can sometimes be mounted in the trade press or niche publications. These methods are often overlooked but can be effective in directing people to your site.
Thinking internationally?
Globalisation brings its own challenges - we can help you to face them with confidence. For example, you can use your web site to make product information readily available to agents, representatives and distributors wherever on the globe they may be.
Translation into non-English versions is important for many markets, and we have experience in this field that we will gladly pass on.
